This year, Duty First Consulting (DFC) is launching our Season of GIVEing through our Get Involved for Veterans (GIVE) program. GIVE will be hosting multiple events and opportunities for our staff to support Veterans this holiday season, as well as encouraging team members to GIVE back in their own way.

ThanksGIVEing

DFC’s Season of GIVEing will kick off with our ThanksGIVEing event supporting Serving our Willing Warriors (SOWW). SOWW strives to provide a “home away from home” environment for our nation’s wounded, ill, and injured warriors by hosting Veterans and their families at their Warrior Retreat at Bull Run. DFC will assist SOWW in decorating the retreat for the holiday season as well as prepping a Thanksgiving dinner for Veterans in the community.

GIVEing Tree

DFC will also be supporting Operation Help a Hero (OHH) during our Season of GIVEing with our second annual GIVEing Tree! OHH supports military families as they prepare for the challenges of deployment and as they transition back to life after serving overseas. DFC will be “adopting” a military family for the holidays by collecting and donating “wish list” gifts for the family, including gift cards, toys, diapers, and clothing.

Wreaths Across America

For our final Season of GIVEing event, DFC will be laying wreaths in Arlington National Cemetery in support of Wreaths Across America. Each December, Wreaths Across America coordinates wreath-laying ceremonies at over 1,200 locations in the United States, at sea, and abroad to remember those who served our country. DFC staff will be joining thousands of volunteers to lay remembrance wreaths on the headstones at Arlington to honor the brave men and women who served our country.
