GIVE: Get Involved for Veterans

Even when we aren’t on duty, we encourage our team members to engage with each other, their colleagues, and their communities.

DFC isn’t all work and no play – we take the time to enrich our employees’ work-life balance through fun company events and team bonding volunteer opportunities. Through our GIVE (Get Involved for Veterans) Program, our professionals participate in quarterly team volunteer events that make a difference in the lives of those who have served our country.

Honor Flights Honor Flights

In support of the Honor Flight Network and in appreciation of those who have served our country, DFC employees have enthusiastically welcomed dozens of World War II, Korean War, and Vietnam War Veterans to the nation’s capital by greeting them at the World War II Memorial and Dulles International and Ronald Reagan Washington National Airports with handmade signs and personal expressions of thanks.

Walk and Roll VA2K Walk and Roll

The DFC team has joined Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) employees, Veterans, and other community members to participate in annual VA2K Walk and Roll events at the VA Central Office in Washington, D.C. VA2K is a nationwide event that encourages community health and wellness and supports homeless Veterans with donated food and clothing items.

Wreaths Across America Wreaths Across America

DFC employees have joined Wreaths Across America as well as thousands of local volunteers at Arlington National Cemetery to honor our fallen heroes by participating in National Wreaths Across America Day and laying remembrance wreaths on the headstones of those who proudly served our country.

Volunteering at Luke’s Wings’ 2015 Heroes Walk to Fly event. Luke’s Wings

DFC has supported Luke’s Wings through participation in events such as Heroes Walk to Fly, a 1.5 mile tribute walk beginning near Walter Reed National Military Medical Center. Luke’s Wings provides transportation, mainly flights, to reunite wounded warriors with their families while they are in treatment.

DFC Gives: Team Red White and Blue Team Red, White, and Blue

In partnership with Team RWB, DFC has volunteered at events such as Final Salute, Inc.’s Stand-Up for Women Veterans event, a program intended to support women Veterans and military women who are transitioning into the civilian workforce. DFC also raises funds for Team RWB through Charity Miles. Team RWB connects Veterans to their community through physical, social, and community service activities.

5 Years: GIVE Thanks, GIVE Back

2014 marked the five year anniversary of DFC! In celebration of this important anniversary we expanded our GIVE program by dedicating the entire month of November to giving thanks by giving back. To commemorate each year we have been in business, we completed one service project throughout the month for a total of five projects. Read more about the service projects.
